How do I upload a Sudoku image?
First, make sure you have selected the correct Sudoku variant and grid size from the menu. The scanner uses the grid size to extract the cells, so uploading with the wrong size will fail to recognize the characters.
Press the Upload button and select an image file from your device. The scanner will detect the grid and read the characters.
Tips for a good image
- The grid should be a large portion of the image. A small grid in a large photo does not have enough resolution for the scanner to read the characters.
- The image should be sharp and in focus. Blurry images make character recognition unreliable.
- Keep the grid straight. A slightly rotated or skewed image is fine, but extreme angles make it harder to detect the grid.
- Use a photo of a printed puzzle. A high resolution screenshot can also be used.
After a successful upload, the recognized numbers appear in the grid and the confidence percentage is shown in the status bar. Lower confidence may mean some cells were misread — double-check before solving.
